Call to action

We all need a mission to get us on the right track. Our raison d’etre! Our moon landing. The reason to get up in the morning!

People on a mission are going places and getting things done. Things that need doing: that make the world a better place for themselves and the people around them. In this era of Covid 19 and the climate emergency, the world needs proactive young people to take on social challanges by working towards a greater good.

If you find yourself seeing opportunities for making your community better then Summit Social will help you focus your ideas and take the first giant leap towards developing a social enterprise

Purpose

Summit Social is an online video training series to inspire and support young people aged 18-35 to set up their own social enterprise or business with a purpose. It will launch in Spring 2021.

Young people will be encouraged to channel the talents, interests and skills that they are most passionate about into a step-by-step process to get their social enterprise off the ground.

The training series will support a range of young people from those with early ideas and motivation to help out in their community, right through to budding entrepreneurs with a fully fledged plans worthy of Silicon Valley or Dragon’s Den.

Social enterprise is a growing sector that has enormous potential for individuals, communities, business and the economy. The network is growing in Ireland and across the world, full of innovative thinkers who are tackling some of the most important challenges and working together in fun, creative and rewarding ways. Young people have an important rule to play – to stimulate fresh ideas and ensure solutions are advancing for an ever-changing world.

The 12-part series will feature advice from young entrepreneurs who have successfully set up their own ventures, as an inside view of Ireland’s social enterprises in action, guidance from business and third sector experts and bespoke training and resources designed specifically for young people with a can-do attitude. There will be self-led learning tasks within the series and lots of examples to inspire and stimulate ideas.
