Resources for families during Covid-19

CWP’s Wicklow Child and Family Project (WCFP) continues to engage with families through out the Covid 19 crisis. With this in mind, the staff of WCFP have supplied these suggested activities for families who are trying to keep children happy and keep anxiety at bay.

Please download the leaflet below which has lots and lots of suggestions of how to entertain children at home.

Indoor Games and Activities To Get Children Moving

WCFP is still operating during this time. Project staff are linking with families on a regular basis. Response to clients’ needs is based on what is presenting on the day. Parents are being provided with parenting support, how to handle the social isolation, how to keep their children occupied without reverting to hours of screen time. Parents are provided with resources to keep their children occupied. Whilst some stress for families may be reduced due to children being out of school they may need support/suggestions on how to manage the isolation, behaviour issues that might arise for their children due to limited social outlets and ideas for keeping children occupied. Also a phone call provides adult conversation to some parents who have limited support networks. The project workers are providing support through phone calls or what’s app.

The Wicklow Child & Family Project’s therapeutic service is being delivered in the form of phone/skype/zoom/what’s app video.

Wicklow Child & Family Project are open to calls from any families from Wicklow Town and surrounding areas.

Resources and ideas for parents who may be struggling parenting their children at this time are provided on County Wicklow Partnership’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social media pages.
