Press Release: Strategic Report 24-28

County Wicklow Partnership launches its Strategic Plan for 2025-2028

On Tuesday, 10th December, County Wicklow Partnership launched its first strategic plan for the company in Arklow Maritime Museum. The event was organised to mark the achievement of several months of intensive consultation and planning with stakeholders, clients, staff and Board members.

At the core of the plan is a values based approach focused on respect, integrity, person-centred, community-led, partnership and sustainability.

The Chairperson of County Wicklow Partnership commented at the launch that “no organisation can work in isolation and our company can only function based on durable and affirming partnerships with our stakeholders and clients.”

The plan charts out a road map for the future development of the company to ensure that it can pivot to every changing needs of individuals and communities in County Wicklow in the coming years.

CEO of County Wicklow Partnership, Brian Carty, commented that this plan was “focussed on harnessing our resources in a planned and clear way to take advantage of emerging future opportunities and initiatives to benefit the communities that we serve in the county”

The strategic plan was developed with the support of Fiona Barry of 2into3 consulting who discussed the process applied in completing the plan. She highlighted the fact that a working group of staff and board members steered the development of the plan over a number of months with intensive consultations with staff, Board and all the company stakeholders. Through this process, the strategic priorities, goals and actions were identified for the next four years.

The launch was also attended by public representatives for the county as well as stakeholder and community representatives. Jim Rees of Arklow Maritime Museum spoke eloquently on the profound impact the support of County Wicklow Partnership had in the development of the museum. Jim commented that the museum would not have developed without the advice and guidance of CWP staff in securing funding under the LEADER programme as well as through the staffing resource provided by its TÚS employment placement programme.
