Employment Opportunity; New Communities Community Development Worker

County Wicklow Community Partnership CLG (CWP) is a Local Development Company which delivers a range of social inclusion, enterprise, employment and community development programmes for individuals and communities in County Wicklow.

Under the SICAP programme we are seeking a New Communities Community Development Worker who will engage with the Asylum Seekers, Refugees and New Communities in our region on an outreach basis to facilitate community development initiatives and also support New Communities on an individual basis to progress their employment and education goals.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the community development sector in a similar role. They will have an understanding of and respect for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and New Communities and have an ability to facilitate and engage with individuals and groups with a strong commitment to community development principles and practice.

They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, IT and organisational skills as well as a proven ability of working on their own initiative. Being bilingual or having the ability to communicate in other languages would be desirable but not essential. A full driving licence and own transport is essential. This is a full time (35 hours per week) position. An initial twelve month fixed term contract will be offered to the successful candidate. Salary: €36,274 per annum pro rata.
